What if the weather is bad?

The safety of our passengers is paramount. Trips do not operate if deemed to be of no scenic value or unsafe to operate. Weather and lake conditions are checked before each trip and a deciscion is made by the lead guide. As such some trips may not operate as scheduled. An alternative trip time or full refund before departure is offered when this occurs.

What is your cancellation/refund/no show policy?

Cancellation Policy: Within 48 hours before departure - loss of 50% of the total price.  Within 24 hours before departure - loss of 100% of the total price.  There is no fee to cancel or amend your booking outside 48 hours prior to your trip.

Weather Policy: 100% refund in full if the trip is pre paid, and cancelled due to bad weather and 50% refundable if trip departed but shortened due to safety issues that arise on the water.

Is the lake always full of icebergs?

Please be aware that icebergs on the lake occur as a result of glacial calving activity.  As this is a natural occurrence, at times the glacier is not as active meaning the quantity and size of icebergs on the lake vary.  Icebergs, calvings and rollovers cannot be guaranteed, but are a wonderful bonus for passengers lucky enough to experience them.

What do I wear?

Layers on top (warm and waterproof), sunblock, sunhat and sunglasses, long pants and enclosed walking shoes. Be prepared for the elements like our guide Tim below!

What is your Safety Policy?

Your safety is our first and foremost consideration. Our guides are extensively trained and we operate to the highest safety standards at all times.  Please be aware the proximity of boats to the glacier or icebergs is completely up to the discretion of the guide on the day as a direct result of glacier/iceberg/underwater ice sheet stability and weather conditions.
